Let’s face it… the holiday season is upon us again! And with the holidays, from Halloween to New Year’s Eve, come lots of indulgent, sugary foods that often leave us lethargic, a little fuller around the middle, and feeling regretful.

I’m here to tell you that this year, the holidays don’t have to be like that for you! You CAN have a healthy holiday!

[06:03] #1 – DO decide who you want to be and how you want to feel when you wake up on January 1st.

[07:20] #2 – DO drop the rope and release the “should”. Find balance between celebration and relaxation.

[08:42] #3 – DO be mindful of temptation and make plans accordingly, so you’re aware of what’s ahead.

[12:04] #4 – DO practice awareness with your food. Slow down and savor every single bite.

[15:12] #5 – DON’T put yourself on the backburner. Prioritize stress management habits, like sleep and rest.

[18:30] #6 – DO always stay hydrated & Keep healthy, enjoyable snacks around.

[19:42] #7 – DO spend time enjoying other holiday activities that don’t revolve around food.

[20:50] #8 – DON’T focus on your weight during the holidays.

[22:44] #9 – DON’T strive for perfection, strive to eat God’s glorious foods 80-90% of the time.

[24:16] #10 – DON’T believe these harmful lies!

[27:09] #11 – DON’T make, accept, or eat any trigger foods.

[29:55] #12 – DON’T feel guilty for not accepting food or throwing away food.

[32:44] #13 – DO make smaller portions of food to avoid weeks of leftovers.

[34:24] #14 – DON’T shame and condemn yourself. We are not perfect.

    It helps me to remember your suggestion about asking ourselves, “Who do I want to be?” It’s a reminder that I don’t HAVE to do any of these healthy habits, but it’s because I CHOOSE to do them because of the outcome I desire for myself.
